The team’s specialists treat smoking related diseases such as lung cancer, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. They also deal with asthma, collapsed lungs, infectious diseases (e.g. tuberculosis), bronchiectasis, chest infections (pneumonia), sleep disorders and respiratory failure. Patients may require non-invasive ventilatory assistance whilst in hospital and at home. Our team is also actively involved in supporting a ‘hospital at home' service for chronic respiratory patients. Bronchoscopies are performed at St Mark's endoscopy unit with its state-of-the-art equipment.
