What sets the Travel Clinic apart?
Our care is provided by specialist Infectious Diseases Consultants and nurses who are national experts in Infectious Diseases. This means we're experts in helping people with complex medical problems travel safely. This can include patients who are having cancer treatment, are taking immunosuppressive drugs, are receiving dialysis or have weak immune systems for other reasons. We're also extremely experienced in advising pregnant women about vaccinations and travel and women who are undergoing fertility treatment.
Who should consider the Travel Clinic?
Everyone. We can also see adults and children, which means we can support a whole family's travel safety. Patients can receive vaccinations and antimalarial drugs on the same day, and we offer short notice appointments for urgent travel.
What are the specific expertise and services we offer?
- Advice about Malaria and we provide anti-malarial drugs
- Full range of the common travel vaccines including vaccines for less common infections such as Japanese Encephalitis and Tick Borne Encephalitis
- Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We are an accredited YF vaccination centre and can provide travel advice, vaccination and exemption certificates to those not eligible for vaccination
- Rabies vaccination
- Testing for previous immunity to Dengue infection and Dengue Vaccination to those at risk of severe disease
- Meningitis vaccination and certification to allow entry to Saudi Arabia for Pilgrimage
- Should you return from travel and be worried about your health we can offer you a same day appointment in our NHS Infectious Clinic free of charge.
