My name is Dr Rony Berrebi and I am a permanent consultant in anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine at the LNWH Trust.
I am a Doctor of Medicine since 2010 (Special Jury Award for my work on regional anaesthesia in Mauritania, Africa) and have a CCT in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine since 2012 (France 2012).
I moved and started working in the UK in 2013 in various London Trusts (King’s College Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster, Guy’s Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital).
I decided to settle in the LNWH Trust for the excellence of care provided and the kindness of its staff members. I became permanent consultant there in June 2017 in ICU and Anaesthetics.
I have expertise in ultrasound guided nerve blocks allowing awake surgery.
Awake surgery is the safest way to provide anaesthetics as it does not affect the breathing, the heart or the brain.
It is the gold standard for postoperative pain management and prevention of chronic pain. It can also be associated with a general anaesthesia in order to allow a “lighter” anaesthesia and achieve maximum pain control after an operation.
From a personal perspective, I’m the father of one and I like playing music in my spare time.
