I am a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine and have a busy NHS practice at London North West NHS Trust. I have wide experience diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic infections. This includes fever in returning travellers and fever of unknown cause, Tuberculosis, HIV and complex urinary and skin infections. Diagnosing and excluding infectious diseases as a cause of unknown illness is a key part of my practice. I also specialise in ambulatory infection services to provide rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients to minimise hospital stay. My academic interests focus on TB and delivering clinical research to give my patients access to the latest treatments. I have a PhD from Imperial College in TB Immunology and supervise research investigating links between Tuberculosis and diabetes. I have authored several scientific papers on TB. I am currently Principal Investigator for several clinical trials studying treatment of viral respiratory infections, pneumonia and TB and several vaccine studies.
Empowering patients to understand their health needs and be central to decision making is key to my practice.
